He grows into a boy of 12,
You slap him,
As he cried,
Just because he cried.
“Boys don’t cry!” you yell at him,
Which he heeds and understands,
He grows up to become a man,
Well settled with a job,
Has bought his dream home,
Married the girl he loved
And has kids of his own.
But because you filled the boy,
With the toxicity,
Of not crying,
It has confused him,
With being a heartless hind.
You told him,
That crying is weakness,
And a man should not be weak.
This has made him think,
That a real man makes others cry.
He uses his power,
Of being heartless,
And beats up his wife,
For no apparent reason,
Maybe,
Because she stopped him from getting drunk,
Or maybe just because he Angry at someone.
He leaves her crying,
Crying with emotional injuries,
Which are much bigger than the physical ones.
What you should teach a boy,
Is that crying isn’t a weakness,
It means you expressed yourself well.
You should teach him,
That a real man expresses his emotions,
By crying too.
Teach him,
That a real man never makes others,
CRY.
